Born and raised in Moncton, New Brunswick, Lee D. Thompson’s fiction has been published in four anthologies, including Random House’s Victory Meat, New Fiction from Atlantic Canada and Vagrant Press’s The Vagrant Revue of New Fiction, and in more than a dozen literary journals across Canada and the US. In 2008 Lee’s first book, S. a novel in [xxx] dreams, was published Broken Jaw Press. An e-book, Diary of a Fluky Kid, was published with Fierce Ink Press in March 2014.
Lee has been active in the New Brunswick literary scene for over fifteen years, working as an editor and publisher, as a book designer, serving on the programming committee for the Frye Festival and as the organizer of the long-running Attic Owl Reading Series. In 2007, with the desire to publish new and exciting storytellers, Lee started Galleon, a journal of literary fiction. From 2002 to 2013 Lee was editor of NB Ink, the newsletter of the Writers’ Federation of New Brunswick.
In 2009 Lee was hired as executive director of the Writers’ Federation of New Brunswick, a position he held for five years before deciding to focus on his own writing career.In addition to writing fiction, Lee is a guitarist and songwriter whose music, under the name Pipher, has been published by Dog Eared Records and Naked Noises. His 2012 album “Till Light” was nominated for three Music NB awards. Lee is a member of The Writers’ Union of Canada.
